Family Museum
The Family Museum has led in fun and education for Quad Cities children and families for nearly 25 years. Since 1997, the Museum has brought unique educational experiences and classes to the Bettendorf Learning Campus and provided lasting impact on our community’s youth. The organization cultivates their vision of a vibrant, engaged, and resilient community by recognizing and developing the potential of all children. Each exhibit is interactive and engages children in sciences, culture and the creative arts.
The Family Museum aims to support children younger than 8 in all aspects of early learning, including social, emotional and physical development as well as communication, language and literacy. Exhibits include the child-size town of Fox Hollow where children can enjoy a bakery, market, post office and more. George’s Farm and Lil ‘Ssippi River Valley feature education on our Iowa and Quad Cities communities. In addition to exhibits expanding children’s curiosity and knowledge, visitors can play at the toddler’s playhouse and an outdoor playground. Classes, camps and events focus on early learning in language, arts, sciences and music. Dance classes start at age 4 with the Family Museum Dance Company for students ages 10 and up who choose dance as their extracurricular activity.
Wastyn & Associates has had the privilege of helping the Family Museum team make their ideas happen by facilitating their last two five-year strategic plans and conducting ad-hoc research. Most recently in winter 2021, Wastyn & Associates gathered information from the community for an upcoming gallery renovation.
