What a great tool! More and more CRMs partner with programs like iWave to provide this value-added functionality. However, those will only allow you to get more information about prospects one at a time, relying on you to identify the top prospects in your database. They do not allow you to screen all your donors and prospects to see who have wealth that you may have overlooked. The iWave screening tool allows you to screen your entire database to see who may become your next major or transformational donor.

The data pulls only from public sources. Therefore, the accuracy of the results depends on the accuracy of the data that exists for your prospect in the public sphere and the specificity of the information that you enter to find them. We test databases like this by entering ourselves. While not perfect, the system accurately estimated my family’s giving capacity – and certainly close enough for any organization to decide if they want to add us to their major donor prospect list and where on that list to put us. It also provides you a tool to identify who rises to the top of your prospect pool so that your staff and volunteers can begin to or expand on their relationships with them to initiate a giving conversation.
