My Favorite Things: Nonprofit Version

Words on the paper and Excel-made budgets,
Story-filled narratives with heart and with wit,
Character limits that let grant apps sing,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Passionate donors, gen’rous with their money,
Active volunteers with hearts sweet as honey
Grant funds and gifts that come with no strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Active board members with plans so strategic,
Making decisions with data and logic,
Completed gift charts that give campaigns wings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When results bite,
When reviews sting,
When I’m feeling bad,
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so sad.
